Small Tasks, Great Love

A quote by Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen:

"Let those who think their work has no value recognize that, by fulfilling insignificant tasks out of love for God, those tasks assume supernatural worth. The aged who bear the taunts of the young, the sick crucified to their beds, the street cleaner and the garbage collector, the chorus girl who never had a line, the unemployed carpenter -- all there will be enthroned above dictators, presidents, kings, and Cardinals if a greater love of God inspires their humbler tasks than inspires those who play nobler roles with less love."

Let us live our littleness, our simplicity, our seemingly insignificant tasks with great love; that nothing may be wasted, and that all that we think, all that we say, and all that we do will bring great glory to God and to His kingdom. Sometimes I feel crucified to my bed, unable to do anything but rest. But even if it means offering my day of sleep to Him, that's what I do because He uses EVERYTHING that is given to Him with love. Nothing is too little, nothing insignificant in His eyes.

Dare to live the small things with great love.
